Hey! Ben from eduCanon. Love all the great reactions! I wanted to follow up and let everyone know that I was a teacher and know the need to be upfront: eduCanon's current functionality will ALWAYS be free :) We're building out premium features, but that will never restrict you from your current uses/content! Also thought I'd throw out a little about what we've recently released:

1. You can now use videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and TeacherTube!

2. We have free response (open-ended) questions in our premium version, as well as gradebook export, and lesson search through the eduCanon database.
eduCanon's comment, December 19, 2013 5:15 PM

4 Powerful Tools For Making Your Own Interactive Content

4 Powerful Tools For Making Your Own Interactive Content | Create, Innovate & Evaluate in Higher Education | Scoop.it
Infographics are popular. They’re a fun way to present and read data, and many people believe that information that is presented visually is often retained better (at least for some learners).
Alfredo Corell's insight:

Interactive infographics are really cool. They allow users to interact with the data – sometimes in a superficial way such as with mouse over or scrolling effects, or in a more meaningful way, where users can input their own data and the graphic becomes more personalized to their needs. That said, making an interactive infographic is more complicated than making a static infographic, and most people will assume that creating interactive infographics is way above their technological expertise (or at least will require more time than they can devote to it).

Zaption, a San Francisco based tech startup, is revolutionizing online video for education. Teachers, trainers, and content publishers use Zaption’s intuitive web app to quickly add images, text, quizzes, and discussions to existing videos from YouTube, Vimeo and private video libraries. The result is an interactive learning tour that transforms video from a “lean back” experience to an engaging “lean forward” activity.

Label 59 : Label anything interactively

Label 59 : Label anything interactively | Create, Innovate & Evaluate in Higher Education | Scoop.it

"Label 59 is a web application that lets you label anything interactively. It is ideal for creating engaging presentations that have interactive labels attached to them. These labels are hotspots on the photo and are represented by markers. You then define content for each of these markers by adding connectors, arrows, tooltips, text blocks and details window.

What you get as a result, is an impressive presentation (in Flash or HTML5) that highlights the key points on your photo when markers are clicked or when the mouse pointer hovers over them.
